What do you do when the meltdown is over?
Do you cry from physical and emotional exhaustion? I do.
Do you take a minute to hate the autism? I do.
Do you worry that you’re doing something wrong, and it’s
causing your child’s meltdowns? I do.
Do you wonder at how your child can go from screaming and
doing everything he can to hurt you, to acting as though nothing happened? I
do.
Do you doubt you have the inner strength it takes to do this
again? I do.
Do you pray for your child and yourself? I do.
Do you keep on going despite your physical, spiritual, and
emotional weariness? I do.
Do you need a good hug? I do.
